RWT Hornegger & Thor GmbH was founded in 1999 by its two directors, Hannes Hornegger and Reinhard Thor. The company has grown steadily since then and currently employs 30 people.

In 2003 RWT moved to a newly built production facility offering 1000 m² manufacturing space plus 200 m² office space. A further 800 m² of production area was added in February 2014 when an extension was built.

Certified design, development and fabrication to the highest standards

Manufacturing takes place on modern CNC lathes and 5-axis machining centers with robotic handling systems, including our high-precision noncircular grinding machine in an air-conditioned room.

Since the company was founded we have specialized in the fabrication of parts to the highest standard. The company has been DIN ISO 9001:2015 certified since January 21, 2000.

Our measurements are taken on modern 3D measuring machines and devices. All ground parts are tested using our in-house magnetic powder crack-detection machine.

Our design and development section is staffed by three experienced, competent and innovative employees. Drawings are made using Pro|ENGINEER, SolidWorks, GOelan, and hyperMILL.

Our designs include jigs and other aids, tools, molds, special machines, manufacturing and assembly lines, and engine and chassis parts. Product development is also available to customer specifications – from simple tools through transmission calculations to engine design.

We specialize in toolmaking, mold construction, prototype construction and assembly production. Additionally we produce engine components and precision parts on a contract basis.


Our machinery is superbly equipped. Ultra-modern systems take advantage of all aspects of CNC machining and high-precision grinding work. And all this is crowned by our honing and finishing processes.
